- ›Knowledge of at least one musical instrument from the approved list is compulsory — candidates without musical skills cannot apply
- ›Age relaxation (max 38 years) applicable only for reserved category candidates with MP domicile
- ›Physical standards are mandatory — no relaxation given in height or chest measurements
- ›Minimum 5 cm chest expansion is compulsory at PMT stage
- ›Late reporting on PMT measurement date will result in disqualification — no re-scheduling

Skill Test – Musical Instrument
Candidates demonstrate proficiency on their chosen instrument from List A (Wind/Percussion: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Drum etc.) or List B (Keyboard, Guitar, Indian Classical: Sitar, Tabla, Harmonium etc.). No written exam is conducted.

Practical group band performance evaluation to assess how well the candidate plays in ensemble with other band members.

Personal interview to assess the candidate's overall personality, communication, and suitability for the Police Band.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)Qualifying
Height and chest measurement as per category-wise standards. UR/OBC/EWS: 168 cm height, 81→86 cm chest. SC/ST/Maratha: 165 cm, 79→84 cm. Gorkha/Nepali/Kumaon: 158 cm, 76→81 cm. Minimum 5 cm chest expansion mandatory. No relaxation given. Late reporting results in disqualification.
